During long-term use, some customers have reported rust developing on the controller power connector. This usually happens because small gaps remain around the connection. If the plug is not fully inserted, moisture or water may enter the connector, gradually causing oxidation, rust, or poor electrical contact.
The earlier controller used a flat-ended female connector. This connector style is commonly found on the market, but it provides limited coverage around the male connector. In humid environments or areas exposed to splashing water, this may reduce the level of protection at the connection point.
To improve water resistance, the upgraded controller power connector has a longer outer sleeve. This extended structure covers the male connector more completely and helps reduce the risk of moisture or water entering the connector, as shown in the image.
However, the upgraded connector design cannot replace correct installation. When connecting the power plug, push the male connector fully into the female connector and make sure the connection is tight. If the plug is not fully inserted, it may become loose and cause poor contact, overheating, or water ingress.
The following image shows an incorrect connection. Common mistakes include failing to insert the plug completely, leaving a visible gap between the connectors, or not reinforcing the connection with waterproof tape. These conditions increase the risk of water ingress and poor electrical contact.
The correct connection method is shown below:
After connecting the plug, wrap several layers of waterproof electrical tape around the entire connection area. The tape should fit tightly around the connector without leaving visible gaps. This provides additional waterproofing and helps prevent the plug from becoming loose during use.
Make sure the plug is fully inserted, then wrap the connection evenly with waterproof electrical tape. Correct installation helps improve water resistance, reduce oxidation and rust, prevent poor electrical contact, and extend the service life of both the controller and the water pump.
